AeroGrow AeroGarden

I'm looking for something REALLY small and came across this product from Bed Bath and Beyond... its called AeroGrow AeroGarden.

(I'd post a link to the website but this is my first post and it wont let me).

It claims to be good at growing tomatoes and other herbs...

Does anyone know if this could be used to grow weed?

Yes, Ive seen some good grows in them although they are hard to work with.

so lets say you plant some seeds in the aero garden...and the plants turn out to be males do yuou just take it out and start over??

Save your money. And spend it more wisely.

First, soil (preferably a HQ mix using coir fiber instead of peat, from a good garden center) is far more forgiving than hydro. You seem new to growing so easy should be better.

Blue ferts like Peter's or Schulz's work fine for begginners, get 20-20-20 and make sure the box mentions 'micro-nutes' like copper and manganese, if it has those it will have the rest. Don't fertilize young plants and use ferts at half strength when you do start ferts. Organic ferts are prefered by experienced growers and produce a 'better' product. Get a mix, like Down-To-Earth's Bio-Live.

Compact floros are cheap and in a good clamp reflectot make a reasonable amount of light vs heat output . Get a few, and a good timered power strip. You will need an oscillating fan too. That will get you through the veg stage.

Problem is floros just aren't good for flowering. Not at all. Oh, you can get flowers, but they will be fluffy and weak. To get the full potential out of your plants you will need better lighting (and a fert higher in Phosphorus, the second number). HPS enhanced spectrum bulbs (400W and up)to get the most IMO.

Even a small 70-100 Watt plain jane HPS driveway light will help make those buds right. But you will have to start fighting heat with any indoor HID lamp. Be safe. Use good wiring and ventilation.

i am using one myself,good nutes,co2 boost,and 35% hydrogen peroxide for pest and oxygen boost.change water every 2 weeks.i'm sure good for small grows.i use the pro 200 and it seems solid.plus it won't kill u with electricity.

just curious, other that stealth why do people spend money on this crap, it is only designed to grow small herbs, not marijuana, why would someone grow a plant that will only get them a few grams rather than ounces? I guess I just dont understand. alot of $$$ that could be so better spent.

they have them things in the grocery stroe here, I'm always going in and putting pot seeds in the display model. haha

that's funny putting pot seeds in the display models. I find the aerogarden are good to start plants.

Exactly, they are good to start plants in but not finish them.

Hell I can save alot of $$$ by buying a $5 bucket and using it instead, I can even finish the grow in that.

Go and look at some of my videos in the hydro section, you will find that great systems can be made very inexpensively. My present system which is the same as an aeroflo cost me a whole $143 usd including the pump and all and it can handle up to 90 plants start to finish.
