Gateway Myth

When I just started smoking, I was amazed that it was so harmless and prosecuted against, it led me to believe the government was lying. (Which they are) So I assumed they were, and tried some different things, but I always went back to the weed. I don't think its a gateway drug, like Moonchild said, personal choice.

All this misleading propaganda from our gov. is BS. Cigarettes are much worse than MJ healthwise. If MJ was legalized nationwide, I believe a lot of the cigarette smokers would kick the habit and smoke cannabis. I have smoked cannabis and cigarettes for over 30yrs and the times when I tried other things was when I was out of MJ and could not find any. Mj has never killed anyone. How many people has cigarettes and alcohol either killed or caused serious health problems ? Millions I'm sure.
I say legalize cannabis then tobacco / alcohol use will diminish greatly. Tobacco an alcohol are truly gateway drugs which lead to bad health, bad judgement and often death.

I've had my downs with some bad drugs and although started smoking mj first know threw self observation that mj is NOT a gateway drug. I dont use anything but mj now and it gives me no desire to go do my old monkey that was on my back. been clean for yrs. dont consider mj a drug. dont evn drink by choice not by force.

its weird how I can smoke weed but can't stand cigarettes. I can't even think of doin any other drugs. they jus sound stupid

I was always curious about drugs like ecstasy, lsd, shrooms, salvia and even cocaine and heroin way before I started smoking weed. If some of them weren't addicting, I would try them. Fortunately I know better than that, it's all about what you know about drugs. And that's why the government should make informative PSA's about those heavier drugs instead of just bashing cannabis and saying it leads to harder drugs and a life of pain.

what i have read ( if you can believe anything you read ) is that tobacco is the #1 gateway drug. it causes more disease that almost any other thing you could do. it is not a quick killer and it will usually let you linger for a good while before you die.
cigarettes have butane- more than 5 scources, benzene more that 5 different compositions, , acetone,
hydrogen cyanide !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nitrogen oxide, ammonia, phenol, terpentine, tolulene, urea ( you may know urea ??? ) it is a form of nitrogen that is used in fertilizer urea nitrogen - look at the ingrediants in miracle grow you will see it.
why anyone would want to ingest any of that is beyond me and i used to smoke 3 packs of kools a day. i quit in 1976-march 1st.
i am for all drug legalization but that does not mean i am stupid enough to do them again.
i used to shoot pcp ( i loved it ) lsd ( i loved that the most ), tuinal, seconal, mda, coke, adrenaline (1- 1000 solution 95 units ) ( i od'd and quit everything but weed after that in 1976-march 1 ) desoxyn, dilaudid percodan, demerol, heroin and i do not mean just 1 in a shot either. at least 5 hits of lsd at a time. 1/4 gram pcp. 5 3 grain tuinals in a shot ( 5cc syringe full. ) i never liked opiates or barbituates much but i did them because my friends did it. not to mention drinking.
but i started on cigarettes.

gateway drug = your first drink of coffee or soda pop introduces you to caffiene. i've seen 6 year olds spend their whole allowance buying JOLT; a powerful coka cola soda product. think outside the box people

marijuana is NOT a gateway drug. i've smoked marijuana for 7 years and the only other "drugs" ive done is drink but i drank before i ever smoked bud.

never did meth, coke, heroin, crack, lsd, shrooms, xtasy, etc.

none of that.

just bud. and alcohol (which i had drank before i smoked as previously noted).

so yeah. they r full of it.
