View Full Version : Transplanting question

Hi guys,
hypothetically, if some very young plants were left un-attended in poor light
conditions and grew top heavy (yet dark green and healthy), is it ok to
transplant them and burry most of the stem in the new soil? I know with
tomatoes, for example, that the underground stalk simply turns into root mass,
and helps stabilize the plant.
any thought on the matter?
also, if digging them in isn't an option, how would one build up some meat in
the stalk and root department and save the plants? More light? Staking?
thanks,
bpy

Same thing happens with cannabis.

Let's say you'd like to bury it to a point 12 inches up the mainstem.
Prepare the 12 stem section. Find a plastic pot 12 inches high, cut out
the bottom, and cut a slit from top to bottom so you spread the pot open
from the side. While holding it open, slip it around the stem, then run a
piece of duct tape around it to hold it together. Position the pot so the
stem is centered, then fill the pot with soil. Or, instead of a slit pot
you could circle the plant with some landscapers edging, using it as a base
you could build up a mound of soil 12 inches high at the peak. Use your
imagination. The point is that you don't always have to move the plant to
soil, sometimes you can move the soil to the plant. You didn't say, so I
assumed you're growing outdoors:-)
