Has anybody bought this system or built one similar to it? How well does it work?

This sysytem looks pretty sweet and isn't a bad price!

For the price compared to other hydro systems it might be worth buying to try out. Opinions?

Honestly? Build your own, It takes less than an hour or two. And costs a quarter of the price. And is completely custom for your own needs.

They're plenty of youtube video's teaching you how to build all the systems. And at the end of the day if your too lazy, Or unable to build your own. Your sure as shit not gonna have what it takes to run the system with plants.....

I'm currently growing in a similar, homemade setup. As mentoned, it really couldn't be much easier to do a self build, and the benefits of tailoring it exactly to your needs/space far outweigh the effort saved by ordering a pre-built kit.

As for how it works; Beautifully so far, though there's still plenty of time for me to mess it up yet, this is my first grow with the recirculating system. My previous (which was my first ever) grow was in standalone bubblers. The simple fact that you don't have to constantly top-up and monitor water levels is invaluable to me. If I so wished, I could leave them for a week and have a very easy grow.

One thing that has made my grow so much simpler is the use of a 100litre main resevoir, which feeds the rest of the system and maintains a constant water level. When I think of how many times I must have delayed/cancelled plans because I had to be present for the water top-up at 'lights on', I can't help but smile, knowing that those days are behind me :D
