View Full Version : White bugs on plants - Need help
Sigma

As the title explains, my friends plants both have swarms of tiny white bugs
on the soil and on the base of both plants (2). They are small enough that
the bodies are the only aparent feature to the naked eye. My friend has not
noticed any damage to the plants as of yet, but he fears the worst and wants
to get rid of them. How would the best way to exterminate these be?
Preferably something that he can find around the house (low on cash). Any
help would be appreciated.
Thanks

do a google search to be sure you know the type of bug but generally you can
use a gentle soap solution sprayed on plants. it is the best thing to try
first.

What about vinegar and water?

The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight,
because by then your body and your fat are really good friends.

Go to your local plant supply shop and get some Fruit & Berry pesticide
spray. It's non-toxic. Use a magnifying glass to check the tops and
bottoms of the leaves for little black spots which are eggs. If you see
those, trim the leaves that have the black spots or spray them with Fruit &
Berry spray. Be sure you lightly mist the weed before drying to rinse the
pesticide from your weed. Mist your weed lightly once or twice per day with
the Fruit & Berry spray until there are no more bugs, then continue to do so
once per day to prevent re-infestations throughout the life of your plant.
Rinse your weed occasionally by misting with water. If you notice the taste
of the pesticide, try rising it for a few seconds in a strainer before
drying, but not too much as to damage the THC deposites.
You can use suds from ivory soap too, but they taste nasty and they're hard
to rinse off. If you prefer this cheaper more convenient method, shave the
soap bar using a cheese grater or knife (carefully) and add a little water,
then work into a lather with either a shaving brush or your fingers (wash
your hands first). Then apply the suds lightly to the surface of the plant.
Don't overdo it or you'll suffocate the plant and increase the width of the
leaves, resulting in stunted growth and lower gross THC content.

Get a powerful magnifying glass and try to see details of what they
look like; then let us know. If you can't identify them clearly, then
try either some Safer's Soap (at hardware or garden centers) or some
Pyrethrum spray (same places). Also, sticky traps may help, but you
really need to figure out what they are and get the right bug killer.

If you happen to have a pet cat, keep it AWAY from anything with pyrethrin
in it. Am studying to be a vet tech and that's a toxic substance to cats.

That's right. It is made from Chrysanthemums, and is less toxic than
nonorganic sprays.
