View Full Version : Would you rather chew Khat or Coca leaves than drink nasty tasting coffee?

I would. And I'm sure lots of other people would too.
In this day and age of coffee Nazi's, how does one start a warehouse
for growing fresh Coca and Khat for locals to chew on in a city?
If you grow Coca and Khat indoors for your city to enjoy fresh every
day, will DEA assholes raid the farm?

other three choices.

I'm a coffee fiend and I drink it for the drug caffeine only. You
sound like a tobacco ad extolling the great "taste" of the
product - we all know "taste" is a code word for nicotine.

You sound like a bit of a facist, Matthew.

Good lord! Decaf!! These guys must like drinking carcinogens! Or maybe they
are lying about drinking it for the taste. Or both.
I actually like the taste of a nice Bokar bean, hand ground at home. Drip, not
perked (yech!)
I have an entomologist friend doing research in Costa Rica who sends me kilos
of coffee that makes your hair stand on end. Some people have been known to tap
dance on the ceiling after a cup of that java! As good as any cocaine I've ever
tasted (for the pharmacological effects - cocaine tastes pretty bad).

Or neither, given that much decaf is made using the swiss water method,
and that the solvent method uses an extremely volotile solvent which
evaporates completely during roasting.

Good for you. Try some better coffee, try a better preparation method,
and you might find something you like even better.

If you knew anything about that of which you speak, you would know that
arabica coffee has about half the caffeine of the cheap robusto that your
friends are seemingly sending to you.
Fine coffee is like fine wine. You are drinking Mad Dog 20/20.

The idea of decaf is as repugnant as cannabis with no TCH, or beer with no
alcohol. These should only be used by the frail or those in ill health.
I've never tried a decaf that actually taseted like coffee. If anyone thinks
that decaf tastes like actual coffee, perhaps you don't actually like real
coffee, or your tastebuds are so primitive you can't actually taste the
difference.
