Quick Questionz . . . on light wattage ???

ok imma new grower i have all i need 2 start my growth i kno how do it i juss wanna noe what light systems yall suggest like for vegitation i kno i use metal halide lights how many wattz u suggest ?? most ppl on other place told me 400 wattz but yeah i jusss wanna noe wha u guys think and for da flowering im suppose 2 use high pressure sodium lights how many watts shuld i use for dat when i wanna began flowering

First of all... not being insulting or anything but I found your post very hard to read. I think that if you spell check my reply you will find that I spell very good. :)

As far as your lighting... Here's my game plan. I start my plants off as soon as they sprout under a 150w HPS. I don't use metal halide at all. I have no need to because my plants grow great with the HPS... The HPS is overall a better light than the metal halide for growing anyway. After about 2 weeks I move them under a 400w HPS and then after a month they go under the 1000w HPS until they finish. :) That's just me though but it's been working pretty good for the last 15 years or so.

What Lotsatrout said was right on the money here.

On my present grow I am using a 600 watt hps/mh convertible with sun agro bulbs. I will use it start to finish.
In past grows I have tried a lot of different things but if I had the lights to do it I would do something similiar to what lotsatrout is doing.
In my last grow I had more lights and used 250 sunagro during early veg and then added a 600 hps about 2 weeks into the grow and then went to a 1000 hps at flower, adding another 1000 3 weeks into flowering and at 5 weeks would add the 250 coming up from underneath the plants.
