A friend of mine had an old wood stove he put his plants in. Had artificial lighting and put red saran wrap in the windows of it, so from just peeking in the general area, it actually looked like a working stove. And not many questioned it or looked further.

let me school some of you people on a good indoor hide, and it has to be the closet in the bed room because not alot of people go in there but you.

Gerry, what did your friend do to contain the smell? A friend of mine has a sweet setup in his apartment that has vents and when you walk in you do not smell a thing out of the ordinary. It is a small apartment too.

I will have to ask him because I didn't smell it, didn't even know it till he showed me one night. We where drinking and just happen to mention pot and he took me to it, I was shocked!

hali, vents that lead to outside the apartment or vents within the apartment? I know someone who grew it in an apartment, but the climate was not the type of climate to grow in, so it was either grow it or ventilate the smell outdoors and have the plants die.

Guess thats answer to my friends then, it was a working stove at one time, you know the cast iron ones. But that was long ways to vent wasn't it?? It worked for him till he got too bold and got caught.

an old wood stove? people think of some crazy places:D I have to agree the closet is the least likely place that guests will go, I know I dont have anybody that comes over and asks to look in my closet:D

I new a guy that used to hide them in his basement, he had a big cabinet down their with swing out doors on it and he would stand his plants up in it when he had people coming over that he didnt want to see the plants.

an old friend I used to hang out with always put all of his plants in the spare bedroom and locked the door, as long as it was just daytime visitors, although I have no idea what he used to do with them if he had over night guests:rolleyes:

the plants generate "the smell" if they are messed with-- kinda like a physiological response to the stimuli.

dude, the smell is intended to attract insects to pollinate the plant. maby disturbing them stirrs it up, but it will always be there. although, you can use an ionic air filter, it really will take away all the smell, even after the bud is harvested it will not have a strong smell. might be hard to convince people it is good though

Ya if you need to hide your shit you need new friends. My friend had a plant in his closet and he showed everyone all the time. Nobody was going to do anything. And like I leave my weed laying on a table when I have 10 people over. I know nobody will take it.

I don't know buz... My plants (White Rhino) are stinking pretty bad at just 4 weeks of veg. I grow in a "basement closet" with ventilation into my chimney. I have a 200cfu exhaust fan that moves the air pretty good especially in a room that is only maybe 20 square feet and about 7-8 feet high.

If I turn off that fan for 20-30 minutes (without touching my plants) my whole frickin' basement smells like some pretty potent weed. They just plain old stink without even messing with them. 1000w HPS, 200cfu exhaust, and 3 beautful ladies. :)

wood stoves have flues and chimmneys so hence the smell just flows right out the top, not a bad idea actually as long as temp is not an issue.

leave the fan on 24/7. a small 4" carbon filter would work wonders

spend $15 bucks and change the locks on the door to key locks.
