View Full Version : urgent: drooping plant

I'm in the 3rd week of flowering in an ebb & flow hydro system. Currently, I
only have 2 plants of different varieties growing in there. I use
Supernatural nutrient solutions, which I've personally had GREAT results
with in the past.

As of last night, the bigger of the two plants started drooping pretty bad!
Looks very limp, as if it suddenly stopped getting enough water, but the
leaves are still soft - there is no crispiness often associated with drying
out. Checked everything... pumps are good, air is moving, temp is okay. The
odd part is the other plant in the same ebb & flow tank is doing
beautifully - healthy looking, faster flowering, etc.

Like I say, the plants are different strains though. Unfortunately, I got
the seed for this particular plant from someone else who mail ordered it,
but is not 100% sure what it is. I am told it is an original Northern Lights
strain, but I can't be positive since I didn't buy it myself.

Anyway, my thoughts are that the problem is one of the following:
- Too strong a nutrient concentration, causing reverse osmosis to occur
(which can't be since the other plant is fine, PLUS there are no signs of
leaf burn on either plant)
-Temp too high (which I've verified is not the case)
-Too weak a nutrient solution coupled with a needy strain, causing it to
suck water and nutrients from the fan leaves. I've heard this could be
normal in late flowering, but I'm only on week 3 here.

Any other thoughts out there? This is a fairly big plant and I'd hate to
lose it. If it is some kind of water issue, I don't have a lot of time to
remedy it before it dries out and dies.

A little help?

Increase the number of cycles per day, the larger plant simply needs more
water.

You got it. Will definitely give that a try effective immediately. Thanks
for the reply.

Current status of the plant has not changed. Limp, but very soft leaves - no
signs of dry & crispiness yet.

it could be overwatered too cause when a plant is underwatered watering make
effects on the plant in less an hour
